Zodiak Nederland appoints new CEO

Aiming not to let the departure of Peter Lubbers to halt its recent momentum, Zodiak Media has appointed Jan Hendrik Smeenge as the new Chief Executive Officer of Zodiak Nederland.

Jan Hendrik SmeengeThe production company has recently launched several series and secured new commissions of both national hits and international formats. These include the new Zodiak format Trash or Treasure which secured its first pick up from SBS, Series 3 of international hit Celebrity Wife Swap for RTL; Series 4 of MasterChef for SBS6; Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners for SBS6 and Shopping Addicts for RTL5. Other popular titles include Well Sick, The Undateables, Road Hogs, The Operation: Surgery Live and Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents.

Lubbers steps down in February 2015 to take up a new role outside the company. Smeenge — currently head of development with overall responsibility for initiating and creating new developments within Zodiak Nederland's development team and bringing new international formats to the Dutch market — will report to Zodiak Media Group Chief Executive, Marc-Antoine d'Halluin and to Zodiak UK, Belgium & Netherlands CEO Rod Henwood.
