Mediaset's websites led the TV-related traffic in Spain for another month, ahead of Atresmedia and RTVE, according to analyst Comscore.

Over 12.2 million users visited Mediaset's websites in October, while Atresmedia got 9.2 million and RTVE 6.5 million. Since the beginning of the year, when the figures were similar for the three main free-to-air (FTA) TV groups in Spain, Mediaset has been growing and leading the sector.

Looking to unique visits, the OJD media report shows Mediaset got 33.9 million unique users in October, 22.2% more than the month before and almost doubling up on figures compared with one year ago.

Such growth is related to the increasing traffic in the main sites of the group, with almost reaching 27 million unique visits and, the video-on-demand (VOD) and streaming online platform, overcoming the 7-million barrier.

The growing figures are mostly powered by the online video consumption, with, according to Comscore, 38.7 million videos served in October through Mediaset's websites and almost four million viewers, while Atresmedia served 37.6 million videos for 2.7 million viewers and RTVE 17.8 million videos for 2.3 million viewers.

It's possible that the figures could be much higher, as there is no figure in Spain that includes consumption through tablets and smartphones, nor is there for videos watched from outside the territory.
