Valencia coach Gary Neville is set to come under increasing scrutiny as his side suffered another setback in La Liga as they lost 1-0 at home to Sporting Gijon.

Neville has yet to taste victory in the Primera Division, and though he has won four fixtures in charge of the Mestalla outfit, all of these wins have come against weaker sides in the Copa del Rey.

Meanwhile, he has seen his side pick up just a handful of points in the league as they have started to slip down the standings.

As a result, the mood around the team is hostile. Valencia were whistled off after their latest loss, while owner Peter Lim is under increasing pressure to sack a figure seen by the fans as lacking the experience to steer a club such as Valencia.
