Argentina's Philips, Netflix ink 4K smart TV deal_22.12.2015

Netflix has signed a distribution agreement with Philips in Argentina targeting smart TV and Ultra HD viewers.

RTVN netfliPHiFollowing a similar strategy to what it did in other territories, the US-based subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform will be available for six months free for those buying a new Philips smart TV and 4K-ready. For existing Netflix subs, the platform will also allow a free-subscription period of six months.

Philips and Netflix's promotion in Argentina is open for Ultra HD models of the 6700 and 7100 series until the end of February 2016, and is to be awarded to the first 900 buyers. Specific conditions for the promotion, which delivers a free period of Netflix's most expensive package with 4K content and four supported devices, can be checked at

Netflix has carried similar moves in other countries, as it recently did in Spain. Shortly after launching there, the SVOD service announced it would be available for free for owners of Samsung smart and mobile devices. Reply With Quote
