Leading YouTube MCN AwesomenessTV is spreading its wings further after inking an international SVOD distribution deal with premium content services provider Vubiquity.
awesomnewssAwesomenessTV is a multi-platform media company owned by DreamWorks and Hearst Corporation serving the global Generation Z audience, for the Middle East, Africa, South Eastern Europe and Latin America (not Brazil). Its core platforms include AwesomenessTV, a leading destination for original programming serving the global Gen Z audience and the ATV Network, a community based MCN with over 90,000 channels.
The new deal will allow Vubiquity to extend its content portfolio — which currently operates in North America, Europe and emerging markets — to include more next-generation and genre-specific programmes for millennials and members of Generation Z, enabling the company’s network of global partners to appeal to younger, digital-first audiences.
AwesomenessTV content will include series such as Fifth Harmony Takeover, DIY or DI-Don’t!, Hey Guys, It’s Meg!, Makeup Mythbusters, Amanda Steele’s The Social Life, Cheerhab, My Dream Quinceañera, and IMO. Approximately 130 hours of content will be accessible via Vubiquity-enabled subscription video-on-demand platforms in many of the countries covered by the deal.
“We’re excited to bring a fantastic brand to some of the largest territories in the world,” commented Vubiquity chief content officer Rob Jacobson. “Non-traditional programming is extremely popular in emerging markets amongst young audiences and AwesomenessTV has created terrific, popular shows and is shaping the type of content that the next generation expects. This deal gives our clients the opportunity not only to meet customer demands but also to get ahead of their competition. We’re delighted to be partnering with them in this SVOD initiative.”
