Media Networks facilitates NetSouth DTH service in Chile_20.12.2015

Southern Chilean telecom operator NetSouth will premiere a direct-to-home (DTH) pay-TV service through Media Networks’ wholesaling services.
leandro gaunszerFollowing an agreement between the telco and Telefónica's business-to-business unit, NetSouth's company suRed will start offering the TV service during the first half of next year. The new service will target towns and cities south from the country's capital, Santiago, such as Puerto Varas, Puerto Montt, Calbuco, Fresia and Llanquihue.
The initial satellite pay-TV offer will have two packages, one basic and one premium, with 89 networks, 39 of which will be HD. The company, which already offers pay-TV has set a goal of 15,000 subs by the end of 2016, intends to reach half a million households within five years.
“This agreement means a huge step forward for suRed, as it enables us to expand our commercial offer, taking advantage of satellite technology for pay-TV distribution and offering a quality service for our subscribers,” said Claudio Armijo and Francisco Sepúlveda, executive directors, NetSouth.
