Netflix begins first Spanish-language original series

In a clear sign that the Latin and Hispanic audience is increasing in importance, Netflix is shooting its first original series in the Spanish language, Club de Cuervos.
The production was green-lit by Netflix six months ago, but now the over-the-top (OTT) operator has started filming the series in Mexico.
According to EFE news bureau, the series will be produced by Alazraki Entertainment and the creative team behind one of the most popular Mexican films of all time, We Are the Nobles.
The cast includes Luis Gerardo Mendez, Mariana Trevino, Stephanie Cayo, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, Antonio de la Vega and Ianis Guerrero, and the comedy series will focus on a family feud between the heirs of a soccer club after the owner dies.
Club de Cuervos is created by Mike Lam and directed by Gaz Alazraki, with Alazraki, Lam, and Leo Zimbron producing. The series will have 13 episodes and will premiere across all Netflix territories during the second half of 2015.
